Golden Kela Awards - Some Sense of Humour At Last

Posted on 21:41 by Unknown
I have heard of the Golden Kelas but now after reading about the 5th Annual Golden Kela Awards I have become a huge fan of theirs. Finally there is an element of fun and with it some element of sanity because you can say many things under the guise of humour that you cannot otherwise. I loved the concept of the Razzies and was always a fan of the Kela Awards.

Good stuff on the biggest grossers of the year and even their Bawara Ho Gyaa award to the movie watching public. I do wish these awards were telecast live - I would not miss this for anything. (Let me check out youtube meanwhile if there is something).

I do wish and urge the Golden Kela Awards people to expand their territory in many other areas because we need a lot more such awards that recognise and award people (Jatin Varma is the founder of these awards) who produce mediocre work and try to shove it down our throat. From politics to publishing, sports to administration, we have many such icons and gods who need to be recognised for what they truly are and suitably rewarded.

For those who missed it - this year's winners of the Golden Kela Award were Sirish Kunder, 'Worst Director' for Joker, Joker 'Worst Film Award', Ajay Devgn 'Worst Actor' for Son of Sardar and Bol Bachchan, Sonakshi Sinha 'Worst Actress' for Everything she did and so on. I simply loved the fact that Anvita Dutt showed up and received the award for worst lyrics for 'Ishq Wala Love'. Shows that she has a sense of humour and that it's not bad to laugh at ourselves once in a while. Good on you Anvita and hope that you set a trend where others also follow!

There are Anti-kela awards for well made movies and they went to Paan Singh Tomar, Gangs of Wasseypur, Vicky Donor and Kahaani. Good on you Kela guys. But please come to Telugu films yaar - these are the same films that are being remade by the Hindi film guys - the root to all that Kela stands for. You guys will have enough material that will need not just a few kelas, you'll need entire plantations.
